Origination SOP

Use this SOP to create an accurate project, verify the customer and property, and send the PPA.

Stage 1 : Origination SOP

Step 1: Create the Project

  1. Log in to the Daylight Portal.

  2. Click Create a Job.

  3. Enter the customer’s:

    • Full legal name

    • Cell phone number

    • Email address

    • Service address

    • Utility company

  4. Select the correct installer and sales representative.

Step 2: Verify Property Ownership

Review the title information shown in the portal. At least one person listed on title must also be included as a customer on the PPA.

If title cannot be verified automatically, collect and upload an approved title-verification document before continuing.

Accepted Title Verification Documents

Documents must show the Primary Applicant is attached to the subject address. Accepted documents include:

  • Deed (dated within 12 months)

  • Current year property tax bill

  • Current year land records

  • Mortgage statement (within 3 months)

  • Trust documents (if property held in trust)

  • LLC/Corp ownership docs showing applicant owns >50%

Do not send the PPA until title has been verified and the correct property owner is included.

Step 3: Qualifying Credit with Soft Pull

  1. Open the project and click Enter Details.

  2. Enter the required customer information.

  3. Click Run Inquiry.

The customer completing credit must be an eligible homeowner included on the PPA.

Credit must be approved before the PPA can be generated.

Minimum Credit Score = 680

Step 4: Enter the System Details

Enter the system information exactly as shown on the customer’s proposal:

  • System size

  • Panel manufacturer and model

  • Panel count

  • Battery model and quantity

  • Estimated annual production

Click Save.

Step 5: Select Pricing Terms

Enter the terms quoted to the customer:

  • PPA Rate & Escalator

Review all customer, system, and pricing information before continuing.

Step 6: Upload Utility Bill

Upload the entire Utility Bill - it MUST be from within the last 90 days

Step 7: Confirm the Project Is Ready to Send

Before sending the PPA, confirm:

  • The project address matches the utility bill.

  • Title has been verified.

  • At least one person on title is included on the PPA.

  • Any required title documents are uploaded.

  • Credit is approved.

  • Customer information is correct.

  • System and pricing information are correct.

  • All required project documents are uploaded.

Step 8: Generate and Send the Agreement

  1. Click Generate PPA Agreement.

  2. Review the agreement.

  3. Click Send.

  4. Confirm it was sent to the correct customer email address.

Step 9: Customer Signing Process

The customer will complete the following steps in order:

  1. Verify their identity.

  2. Sign any required state or utility documents.

  3. Complete the digital Welcome Package.

  4. Review and sign the PPA Agreement.

  5. Receive completed copies by email.

Step 10: Confirm Completion

Monitor the project until all required customers have completed the signing process.

Once the agreement and all required documents are completed, the project is ready to submit for Document Verification.
